Guided tour to the Capellades Paper Mill Museum. Located in Capellades, the Paper Mill Museum is located in the old paper mill “”Molí de la Vila””, which preserves the structure of the 18th-century paper mills. Next to it you can find the Bassa, a natural water and crystalline well up, which was used by 16 paper mills in the town. The Museum’s permanent exhibition halls record the history of paper from its origins to the current manufacturing processes. In the basement of the mill, where paper done by hand is still produced today, the visitor can learn in detail the whole crafted paper process, with original tools and machinery. The collections and documentation that are preserved, make this Museum one of the most important international centres dedicated to the study and dissemination of the role in all its fields.
The visit can be complemented by several workshops and the visitor can make a sheet of paper with his own hands.
