The Espai Cultural dels Canals d’Urgell is an interpretation center where it is explained in a fun and didactic way how the territory has been transformed thanks to the construction of the canals d’Urgell. During the visit we will take a trip back in time that will take us 150 years back, and we will see how it was before, during and after the construction of the canals and how our ancestors lived this whole process of change. We will begin our journey to the Devil’s Hole; this is how this land was known almost two centuries ago due to its extreme aridity. We will delve into the construction of this work with the most important hydraulic infrastructure of the nineteenth century and, finally, we will immerse ourselves in a green place full of life, the result of the desire of the people of the land. Water socially and economically modified these lands, but it was not an easy process.
