More than 4,400 specimens from scientific works show us the wonders of insects, their relationships, their customs, their importance for the conservation of biodiversity. Also insect culture and folk knowledge.

The path of the wildcat
The wildcat is an animal that resides in the vicinity of MónNatura Pirineus; it is highly elusive, venturing out mainly at night and highly adept at concealing itself. We have a good understanding of its habitual route by tracking its footprints. However, today, at the end of the path, we lost its trail. Can you help us? Using a map, we will trace the wildcat’s footprints and explore ten points of interpretation, allowing us to learn about the fantastical landscape of Planes de Son, the cohabiting creatures like moles and ants, the high-mountain flora and intriguing facts that are bound to pique your curiosity. During the activity, you will encounter various challenges that you must overcome to follow the path of the wildcat. The activity is conducted through a mobile application, enabling you to witness the “unseen” and immerse yourself in nature with all your senses.

Guided visit to the Tavascan Hydroelectric Power Station
Visit the interior of the Tavascan Hydroelectric Power Plant and enter into its underground galleries hidden in the depths of the mountain. The visit consists of two parts. Initially, the Water Interpretation Center is visited, where the visitor gets in touch with the history of the infrastructure as well as its operation. This is achieved through an exhibition and an audiovisual. Afterwards, the guided tour continues inside the power plant. The tour shows different parts of the plant and how it works, thanks to the explanations offered to the visitor. A guide accompanies the entire visit. The work involved thousands of people and revolutionized the territory where it is located in the 1960s. The construction process was colossal and left us with a unique and pioneering infrastructure, which includes one of the highest water falls in Europe and a reversible hydroelectric power plant.

Learn about the exile routes of World War II, at “The Freedom Path” Prison-Museum
It is estimated that between 60 and 80 thousand people arrived in Spain during the Second World War, defying the high peaks, the adverse weather conditions and the surveillance on both sides of the border. The town of Sort and its prisons, for men and women, became the concentration place for refugees detained by the Civil Guard at the Pallars Sobirà and Val d'Aran border crossings. Currently, the museum space disseminates what were the escapes and pays tribute to all those who starred in them.
